Last night I had the pleasure of accompanying a good friend to a preview of the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2011 Womenswear collection at the Melrose Ave boutique. I didn't have the greatest camera with me (just my trusty old iphone!) but I wanted to grab a few snaps. It's definitely been a time of transition for this label, but the new collection from Sarah Burton has provided a strong look into the future while maintaining elements that McQueen had always brought to the range. Pretty amazing actually. It was also a great opportunity to see a few runway garments up close and study the detailing and technique - beading and embroidery, tailoring, printing....just incredible.
